Ramli to file suit against Gani, Musa, MACC

vox populi small thumbnail Kairos: Former Commercial Crimes Investigation Department chief Ramli Yusuff's revelations and subsequent bold stand must be applauded by all fair-minded Malaysians.

Here is a top cop of the country having the guts and gumption to openly challenge the gross injustices and cover-ups meted out by no less than the very people who are supposed to be the guardians of justice in our nation. I am referring to the attorney-general (AG) and the inspector-general of police (IGP).

It is common knowledge that the AG's Chambers is corrupt and politically tainted and the present AG is a man of very dubious integrity. During his tenure, he has brought great disrepute to his high office and turned it into refuge for crooks.

We must all support what Ramli is doing and find some way to be rid of the filth and dirt in the AG's Chambers and the police force. A change in government is the only answer.

Gerard Lourdesamy: When Pakatan Rakyat takes over the federal government, the AG, the IGP and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief will all be suspended, pending a tribunal of inquiry to remove them from office for misfeasance in public office, misconduct, abuse of power and corruption.

Those who have retired will have their pensions reviewed. For those still working, it is customary out of courtesy for the new PM to call in these persons and give them a polite ultimatum to resign or take optional retirement with all benefits intact or face the public humiliation of an inquiry and possible prosecution.

Most will opt for the former. The same will happen to a number of judges of the superior courts, both serving and retired.

The new government will say this is necessary to protect and preserve the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law, and to remove the corrupt, incompetent, inept and deadwood in the judiciary.

Every new beginning needs a fresh start with a comprehensive and thorough spring cleaning of the political system and all branches of government.

Anonymous_3e21: Dignity and self-esteem has no price tag. There is no two ways about it, you must claim your dignity and self-esteem back and we will pray for Ramli's success.

AG Abdul Gani Patail and former IGP Musa Hassan must be held accountable for their actions so that in future there will be no more such cruelties done to other Malaysians.

Anonymous #01637384: If PM Najib Razak is a true leader of quality, he would have corrected every wrong done to Ramli, like giving him back his 37 years of loyalty in the police force, reinstating him, giving him back his pension and accord him a march of honour from the force.

But Najib is not a man of such leadership quality so Ramli has to resort to suing in order to get justice.

His threat to sue is a joke. If he is innocent, he should sue now. Not just Zuraida, but also his former driver and Malaysiakini and all those media which published the story.

Artchan: I just don't know why would the lady (actress Zahida Rafik) commented on the allegation. She should have just said, "No comment".

In Malaysia, there is no law against receiving money - especially if someone gives it to you - unless it is stolen money or a form of blackmail.

So if a hooker gives good service and the customer chooses to pay RM1.5 million for her services, she should take it.

After all, that is her job, and she needs to feed her family and siblings too. I just wait and see how the Umno vice-president wiggle out of this one.
