What's the real truth, Muhammad Shafee?
VOXPOP 'There is no point getting irritated, Shafee. Just tell the truth. Are you denying writing the letter, either by yourself or your firm?'
Lawyer: No secret mission for PM and wife
Lim Chong Leong:
Lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, just answer whether you are acting for the government of Malaysia like you have allegedly stated
in your letter
to the top three judges, there was no need to get angry.
If you are, we want to know why attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail is not doing his job. If you are not, then why did you say so (that you had been appointed by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor for a three-week confidential overseas assignment) in your alleged letter?
Now, here's the third question. If you are attending to government-related work, are you then moonlighting in Australia for the law conference?
So you are either lying about the law conference in Australia or your round-the-world trip to interview witnesses, or both.
Tholu: What is the truth, Muhammad Shafee? Since you had allegedly mentioned that the mission was commissioned by the government, you along with the government have an obligation to enlighten us on the purpose of the mission.
Whatever the purpose of the mission, it surely involves and affects the rakyat since the government is but only our elected management team of the nation and mandated by us to execute its duty as per our wants and wishes.
There cannot and shouldn't be any clandestine activity by the government that is withheld from its rakyat. It would be like a public company conducting business which its shareholders are unaware of.
Further, if the alleged mission had been announced to the courts, it is now in the public domain for no court proceedings is secret even if it is heard in chambers.
Wira: Since it is not a secret mission, perhaps his clients, public figures who make a living from the people, can tell us exactly what their lawyer is doing in Europe?
Rick Teo: Shafee should be hauled up for trying to mislead the court in order to be excused from attending the cases which he sought postponement.
Why did he write the letter addressed to the judges to seek postponement?
Artchan: No need to get angry, Shafee. Just say that the letter was forged and not your doing. And then demand an investigation, and soon the episode will be quickly forgotten.
SP Chew: When I was reading this piece of news, a Chinese proverb flashed across my mind, "Yat san wan yau yat san ko", meaning behind a mountain there's always a higher mountain.
Someone out there can see through our lies. Bear in mind too that "truth, crushed to earth, shall rise again."
Denial of the truth will always, eventually, reveal the true character of a man. And under severe stress or cornered, a man will either fight it or take flight. That is an undeniable fact of life.
Mohan Ghandi: There is no point getting irritated, Shafee. Just tell the truth. Are you denying writing the letter, either by yourself or your firm?
If not, then just go and take action against a ‘fake' letter purportedly sent out by your firm. It does not achieve anything by getting angry and upset when the "cat is out of the bag".
Quigonbond: If it was rubbish, PM Najib Razak wouldn't have been so defensive yesterday to avoid the question and quickly walk away. If it was rubbish, the PM would have rubbished it and laughed out loud.
Awg. Damit: Why get angry? The question is: Did he or did he not write that letter to the judges asking for 'leave' so as to attend to urgent affairs of the prime minister?"
Nalla to fight Anwar's lawsuit with videotape
Trueglitter: The obnoxious and much-despised senator S Nallakaruppan has once again appeared in the news for all the wrong reasons.
This non-entity knows not the meaning of what shame is when he is adept and passionately indulging in his much-acclaimed craftsmanship which is akin to "prostitutional foreplay" to sensationalise and garner public attention to prop up his waning and much-deflated egoistical self.
It is not unexpected that the scheming and conniving Nalla would stoop so low as to endear himself to his political and Umno-BN masters by his strident and relentless attacks on his one-time ally, Anwar Ibrahim, especially at a time when the GE is drawing so close.
It is said that "failure makes a man bitter and cruel" and in the same breadth, it could be rightly said that the embittered Nalla was deeply disappointed and left PKR when Anwar did not award him a high position in the party which he had craved for.
Bert: There are numerous issues in the country, corruption, money laundering, stateless Indians, etc.
But this so-called senator is more concerned about the sex life of others. What kind of senator are you?
You are wasting the rakyat's money. If you have the guts, why don't you stand for election against Anwar? You are a disgrace to the Indian community.
Anonymous_3e21: Like what the writer said, "The tape was handed over in a staged-for-media ‘coincidental meeting' with lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah at the lobby of the Kuala Lumpur court complex on Jalan Duta today."
That was it, a stage event and if at all the content of the tape has any damning evidence against DSAI (Anwar), then we all know what will happen next.
Anonymous #30887039: A senator paid by our tax money? What a scam.
