The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has begun investigation into Kelantan utility company Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd (AKSB) with its officers visiting the company yesterday.

pas muktamar 130610 nik abdul aziz nik mat 1 The officers from MACC Putrajaya arrived at AKSB during its board meeting chaired by Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat ( left ).

According to Utusan Malaysia , the officers brought along files to assist in their investigation. They were at AKSM until afternoon recording statements from senior executives.

The Malay daily, quoting its source, claimed the MACC investigation follows a report lodged by the Kelantan People’s Action Council over allegations of mismanagement resulting in RM130 million loss from non-revenue water.

Also being investigated is AKSB’s use of 80,000 smart meters and PAC3 chemicals costing a total of RM11 million.

MACC investigation director Mustafar Ali confirmed its officers visited the AKSB premises to investigate, but declined further comment.
