Merdeka Heritage Trust is prepared to consider allowing the use of the Merdeka Stadium which it owns as the venue for a gathering planned for Saturday.

Vice-president 1, Educational Development and Corporate Communication Division of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), Aziz Anuar, said the offer was subject to the rally organiser, a non-governmental organisation backed by the opposition, fulfilling the conditions on the use of the stadium.

Merdeka Heritage Trust is a subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad.

Yesterday, Malaysia Stadium Corporation chairperson Jamil Salleh offered the use of the Bukit Jalil National Stadium for the gathering after Kuala Lumpur City Hall rejected the organiser’s application to stage the so-called peaceful demonstration at Dataran Merdeka.
