Several areas in Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Selangor will face water supply disruptions on May 8 and 9 following works done by the Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd’s (Syabas) contractor.

In a statement today, Syabas said the disruption will start from 9pm on May 8 until 6am the next day in Kuala Lumpur areas.

These include, Taman U-Thant, Desa Pandan, Taman Pandan Jaya, Taman Cempaka, Taman Bakti, Taman Nirwana, Taman Putra Sulaiman, Kampung Pandan Dalam, Taman Cahaya, Pandan Cahaya, Jalan Ampang from Jalan Tun Razak intersection to the MRR2 intersection, and Jalan Tun Razak from Jalan Yap Kwan Seng intersection to the Jalan Eaton intersection.     

While in Hulu Selangor, the disruption will start from 8pm on May 9 until 5am the next day which includes Kampung Baru Ulu Yam Baru, Rumah Murah, Kampung Setia, Pekan Ulu Yam Baru, Kampung Hulu Kalong, Kampung Sungai Kamin, Kampung Sungai Chik, Kampung Pasir and Kampung Gurney.

Also affected would be Taman Desa Kaloi, Taman Desa Kelisa, Kampung Pisang, Kampung Sri Liam, Kampung Padang, Taman Arowana, Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor, Kampung Kalong Hilir, Kampung Kalong Tengah, Kampung Hulu Rening and Kampung Sungai Tamu.

The statement said, the disruption was due to the replacement work of two units of valves at Jalan U-Thant, Kuala Lumpur and downtime of the Batang Kali treatment plant to make way for the installation work of ‘altitude valve’ at Kolam Air Ulu Yam Baru.

Syabas advised the public to keep sufficient water supply and to use water wisely throughout this period.
