PAS Youth today came out to defend PKR deputy president Azmin Ali saying attempts made by the Umno-owned media to link Azmin with a sex video showed that Umno has reached the end of its political life.
“PAS Youth considers the action of Umno-owned media to publish the pornographic report as disgusting action by extremists who are able to legalise the illegal,” said the wing’s publicity chief Riduan Mohd Nor in a statement.
He condemned the mainstream media for losing their guidance and integrity by publishing the pornographic images to millions of Malaysians of different ages.
“Where is the voice of ulama and mufti in Umno who are silent when the media blatantly committed vices? They should rise and protest against such despicable action,” said Riduan.
Several pro-Umno bloggers had uploaded still images of a footage allegedly showing Azmin in an extramarital toilet tryst.
The Umno-owned
Utusan Malaysia
also published the still images on its frontpage today.
Azmin has denied the allegation, claiming he has been the target of a vicious series of attacks on his character recently.
Riduan pointed out that the “outdated” tactic has been recycled many times since 1998 to attack the dignity of Pakatan Rakyat leaders, including the two sodomy charges against PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, as well as the alleged sex video released by ‘Datuk T’ last year.
The tactic to destroy the morality of Pakatan leaders by linking them with adultery will only make Umno and its media more hated by the people, he said.
“The release of the latest sex video shows that Umno has run out of issues and ideas in facing the wrath of the people, especially after Bersih 3.0 which saw thousands of people assemble in the capital.
“This disgusted action marks the end of the political life of Umno which is forced to rely on anything to ensure its survival, to the extent of sacrificing human values and dignity,” added Riduan.
