Makkal Sakti not demanding any seats for GE

Makkal Sakti president RS Thanenthiran today said the party would not demand any seats for the coming general election (GE) but instead assist Barisan Nasional (BN) to ensure victory.
“We are not going to demand for any seats from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak. We understand that all 222 Parliament seats have been allocated to the BN component parties.
“So we do not want to pressure the BN chairman further,” he told reporters after meeting Najib together with his 12 supreme council members in Putrajaya today.
Thanenthiran who claimed that the topic of the meeting today had nothing to do with the GE, said the party that was formed three years ago, would however, not reject any offers made by the prime minister.
“The visit is only to show our support to the prime minister who has resolved numerous issues involving the Indian community in the country, including assistance for Tamil schools and temples,” he said.
