The remand on a police lance corporal who was involved in the case of the fatal shooting of another policeman while on duty at the Istana Anak Bukit on April 26, has been extended for another seven days beginning today.

Earlier, the magistrate’s court in Alor Setar allowed a seven-day remand which ended today against the 25-year-old male suspect to assist in the investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

In the incident at about 5.45pm on April 26, the victim, constable Mohd Sobri Mohd Sidek, 22, who hailed from Malacca, died at the scene due to serious injury from a shot in the face using an M-16 weapon.
