An unruly Dutch businessman was handcuffed and confined to his seat during a Malaysia Airlines flight from Amsterdam before being arrested on arrival in Kuala Lumpur, a report said today.

The 41-year-old man initially "created a stir" by demanding a window seat and later allegedly manhandled a flight steward and started shouting abuse after he was refused more alcoholic drinks during the flight on Saturday, The Star newspaper reported.

The pilot alerted the control tower at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and the businessman was detained by police when he arrived. He has been remanded in custody "to assist investigations", The Star said.

In the past six years, police have arrested more than a dozen foreigners for offences on Malaysian Airlines flights, the newspaper reported. - AFP
