Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) will send a three-man team to attend the Barisan Nasional technical committee meeting tomorrow in Kuala Lumpur.

The team will be led by party president Daniel Tajem and include vice-president Peter Runin and secretary-general Stanley Ajang.

Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak will chair the meeting which will also be attended by heads or representatives of all BN component parties.

A PBDS spokesperson told malaysiakin i today that the party received notice of the meeting last week.

The meeting, among other things, will discuss the possible date for PBDS triennial delegates conference to elect new office-bearers .

PBDS was de-registered in December last year following a protracted leadership tussle. It was reinstated on March 9 this year just before the general election upon appeal by its leaders.

Meanwhile, the Borneo Post in its front-page report yesterday quoted former PBDS vice-president Sng Chee Hua ( left ) as saying that Tajem should resign and allow either party treasurer-general Joseph Salang, who is deputy foreign minister, or former information chief Dr James Masing to take over as president with the other as deputy president in a compromise.

Commenting on this, a senior party leader, who asked not to be identified, said the best solution is for Masing, who is the rival faction leader and state social development and urbanization minister, to resign instead and when this happens "Tajem may be persuaded to also stand down".
