Irene and Ibrahim - only one gets probed for sedition
VOXPOP 'Irene has her heart with the migrants and she feels that they need a better deal in Malaysia. Some of us give the migrants a good deal, but most of us don't.'
'It's the government that is immoral!'
Kairos:
Both Tenaganita director Irene Fernandez and Bersih co-chairperson S Ambiga have guts and are not easily intimidated into submission. If anything, they are the real Malaysian heroes of the hour.
They are truly the inspiration of all right-thinking Malaysians. The more the government tries to suppress them, the stronger they get.
They are the Malaysian equivalents of the Burmese democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi and totally deserves our esteem.
The government better think twice before doing any harm to them because it will pay a price for its indiscretion.
We need more fearless Malaysians like these two women at this critical time in our national history.
BernieBaby: Irene has her heart with the migrants and she feels that they need a better deal in Malaysia. Some of us give the migrants a good deal but most of us don't, and we think that it's their bad luck to be born Indonesian or Bangladeshi.
If someone says something bad about me, I'd rather talk with the person and reason it out, rather than accuse the person of being a traitor.
My wish is that those migrant workers who have worked for me, and with me, enjoyed their stay in Malaysia.
My contractor owed his workers eight months salary. My site supervisor informed me of their predicament and I paid off their outstanding wages by directly deducting from my contractor's payment.
The workers were then paid directly by me and my contractor had no choice but to accept the reduced payments to him.
Irene is right, you can make 15 police reports and there will be no action. I think that it was better for me to teach my contractor some manners than getting the police or relevant authorities to do something about it.
FellowMalaysian: The letdown and lackadaisical action and conduct of the authorities in investigating abuses of foreign workers or victims of human-trafficking is indeed shocking, despicable and unforgivable.
Irene has certainly give a new lease of life to these unfortunate lost souls and she deserves a pat in the back.
Malacca Perkasa condemns pelting of DAP duo
Karma: If Perkasa is not linked to gangsterism-styled protest, nothing else can describe them.
Why do you think they so daring like as though we are living in Somalia? That's because the police chiefs are ready to lend their support.
Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the ex-IGPs (inspector-general of police) had been calling the 'rowdy' Bersih 3.0 protesters hooligans and communists. They should now review their statements and target them at the right direction.
Thuggery like this also happened during the Occupy Dataran. Umno and Perkasa have indeed acted like ‘samseng' in their protests.
So who are these hooligans and communists in Bersih 3.0? Why Dr M and the ex-IGPs are silent about the funeral rites at Penang CM Lim Guan Eng's house, the burger stalls and butt shows at Ambiga's and all these acts?
Didn't they now have info who these culprits are?
Rom Nain: What a pathetic bunch of savages. They rampage like the goons that they are and when they realise they are being heavily criticised, they lie through their teeth, pleading that they had nothing to do with it.
Even wild animals are more honourable.
Anti-Corruption: If the DAP assemblypersons have 'knocked into someone' as claimed, do you think those thugs will let them off?
Muslim NGO: Why are muftis mum on Merlimau riot?
Whatsup: Righteous demand for clean and fair elections, the removal of radiative harm, end massive corruption and transgression of laws, etc, are 'condemned' by these so-called, obviously unashamedly biased muftis or religious leaders as against the Islamic teaching.
But yet they fall into dead silence when it comes to violence at Merlimau or PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) brutality.
Is this your religious stand despite knowing it's outright wrong and criminal? Is this your teaching? To protect the corrupt and criminals?
Doesn't this make you an accomplice? How can you continue to lead your followers with such thinking?
Can we then conclude that you are colluding with the devil who wants to cause mayhem to the rakyat?
Blindfolded: If the muftis are all out to speak against Bersih, and yet do not speak against Merlimau riot that went against Bersih, does that mean the muftis do not care about law and order, but rather care about promoting anything against Bersih (or in other words, promoting the opposite of ‘bersih')?
Swipenter: These are probably Umno's muftis and their well-being and position are in the hands of Umno, so do not expect them to practice equanimity.
Cannon: It's for the same reason these muftis are mum when Utusan Malaysia was caught red-handed smearing an Australian senator in the name of Islam.
That's an act of blasphemy - bearing of a false witness using Islam, making out Allah to be a liar.
There's not a squeak from the likes of Jati leader Hasan Ali and Perak mufti Harussani Zakaria, the so-called "defenders of the faith".
That's how Malaysians can tell these charlatans are not servants of God, but defenders of a corrupt regime.
