PAS Youth will hold a demonstration at the headquarter of the New Straits Times ( NST ) in Bangsar this Friday, in a bid to mount pressure on the daily’s report calling PAS spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat as the “father of kafir” (infidel).
PAS Youth secretary Khairul Faizi Ahmad Kamil in a statement today said that the decision came after the Umno-linked daily had failed to retract the report and apologise.
It will be held after Friday prayers at Masjid Saidina Abu Bakar, Bangsar, he added.

report, published on May 8, quoted former inspector-general of police Abdul Rahim Noor (

slamming
Nik Aziz as just “another political animal” who wants to cling on power.
“PAS Youth Malaysia views the labelling of Nik Aziz as ‘father of kafir’ as an insult to PAS and its struggle,” Khairul Faizi said.
He said the wing had taken steps to meet with the NST ’s management, but they refused to retract the statement and apologise, even after PAS Youth had held protests at NST ’s state bureaus.
“Hence, each member of the PAS is urged to attend the protest against the barbarity of the NST ’s report and their stubbornness to apologise,” he said.
