NONE Hassan said he wanted the police to investigate and expose the culprit behind the SMS and stop its circulation.

“I have never committed any immoral act as alleged in the SMS, which is a serious slander and lie that can tarnish my reputation as an elected representative and undermine racial harmony in the country,” he told reporters in Jasin.

Hassan said the gathering was peaceful and claimed that the circulation of the SMS was a tactic employed by certain people who wanted to unsettle the Barisan Nasional (BN) stronghold of Malacca.

The 13 NGOs in Malacca which lodged the police reports included the Jasin branch of the 4B Youth Movement, the Batu Gajah Pasir branch of the Malaysian Association of Youth Clubs and the Jasin District Youth Council.
