A cable fault and a shutdown for cable upgrading caused a disruption today in the TM Streamyx Internet service in the Setapak area in Kuala Lumpur and in Felda Trolak, Perak, respectively, according to the TM Consumer Service Division.

A spokesperson said the disruption in Setapak affected areas in Wangsa Maju, Chow Kit and Jalan Tun Razak.

“The Internet service was down from 2.30pm. We are trying our best to restore service but cannot say when it will be running again.

“We are also trying to establish the number of affected consumers and will ensure that they get their Internet service back as soon as possible,” he told Bernama .

The spokesperson said the disruption in Felda Trolak was due to cable upgrading.

“When we upgrade the cable, we have to shut down the station there. The disruption began at 10am and service is expected to be restored at about 7pm.

“A total of 2,278 consumers were affected. We hope that the upgrading will provide consumers with a better service,” he said.
