Prime Minister Najib Razak will launch the prospectus of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGVH) in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
Prime Minister Najib Razak will launch the prospectus of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGVH) in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
Felda chairperson Mohd Isa Abdul Samad said the launching would enable FGVH to be subsequently listed on Bursa Malaysia.
"Only several days are left for Najib to launch the FGVH listing campaign and the process of receiving bookings whereby 20 percent of its shares belong to the 112,635 settlers.
"Another 17 percent of its shares are held by a trust body comprising cabinet ministers who oversee Felda," he said after opening Felda Terengganu Region Health Day and World Tuberculosis Day in Ketengah Jaya, near Dungun today.
Mohd Isa said the 20 percent settlers-owned shares which reaped profits, would be distributed to all the 112,635 settlers.
Felda would also distribute shares to state governments, and as was the practice of Felda, the shares would also be given out to investment institutions like Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), Tabung Haji and others.
Meanwhile, on the World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, he said there was an increase in TB cases in the Kerteh Felda Cluster which had 20,000 settlers.
He said there were 17 TB cases involving Felda settlers in Terengganu in 2010 and 32 cases last year.
