'MACC, be like ICAC, then we can talk business'
VOXPOP 'No one is going to trust you. There are so many high-profile cases involving BN leaders - all not a whimper from you.'
PKR: No help wanted with vetting polls candidates
Gobsmacked!:
The MACC's (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) offer to help vet potential election candidates, I believe, would be better received if they had shown some independence and professionalism.
Based on past records, they work like an extension of Umno. There were many cases which put the integrity of MACC in grave doubt.
The Teoh Beng Hock case (no disciplinary action against the three culprits after the royal commission findings), the failure to investigate the Scorpene scandal, the US$30 million alleged kickbacks involving the Sabah CM in Hong Kong, the Sarawak CM's mega corruption, the cessation of action against the PKR state assemblymen in Perak after they hopped to BN, just to name but a few.
Where is your integrity, MACC? You are supposed to operate like the ICAC (Independent Commission Against Corruption) of Hong Kong, but you are no better than the old ACA (Anti-Corruption Agency).
An ineffective agency by any other name is still an ineffective agency. It can only be as good or as bad as the people who run it.
Tailek: Absolutely correct. Don't fall into this trap set by the MACC. They are a den of vipers. Any information Pakatan Rakyat gives them on its potential candidates will be on Umno's desk within the hour.
Ferdtan: If MACC were to vet Pakatan's candidates then you may see the potential winning candidates accidently walking through the MACC windows. Or they might ‘strangle themselves'.
Who can trust MACC anymore - nothing short of sacking all the top officers from the authorities will be needed before trust can be restored.
MACC, do what you are paid to do - go and arrest and charge successfully all the corrupted government officers and ministers. Then only you can talk of doing other less consequential matters.
Democrat: This is some bullshit, MACC. Isn't this a case of ‘vet all of them and give the information to the government'?
You see MACC, no one is going to trust you after what has been happening, and will happen. So many high-profile cases involving BN leaders - all not a whimper from you.
Like strategy director Rafizi Ramli said, go do your job properly first, prove you are not pro-BN, then we will trust you. Until then, zero trust.
Democracy: Just give them a list of Umno candidates and this will keep them busy until after the election.
Lembah Pantai fracas: Why didn't PKR 'grab' Umno man?
Datos: Umno is untouchable. Grabbing Umno is as good as grabbing the police, the judiciary, the Election Commission, the MACC, all in one. Even without moving a finger, Umno is capable of turning the tables on you.
Lembah Pantai Umno Youth chief Mohamad Sazali Kamilan, messengers and victims always get shot down, so how to grab- lah ?
Kgen: Grab an Umno man? Are they mad? This would have caused a fight to break out considering how rowdy Umno people are.
I really shake my head at this sort of reasoning which could only have come from Umno.
Lim Chong Leong: It is clear that Umno wants Pakatan to lose their patience and retaliate with violence.
Only then will Umno be able to use the full force of the government machinery in their hands to crush Pakatan.
The proper question should be why the police did not grab the Umno guy. This shows that the police are Umno guard dogs.
2cts Worth: Mohamad Sazali, why make such a bodoh (stupid) statement? Or is it a joke? Do you think the Umno guy who threw the stone was up for grabs?
Don't you think this act could turn into something ugly? Perhaps your brain is too slow to comprehend this simple fact.
Hmmmmmmmm: If PKR members had grabbed the ‘rempit' with the red shirt, who is to say that the police won't rush in and fire tear gas and water cannons and also beat up the PKR supporters?
They will then claim that the PKR supporters started the violence.
By the way, have you noticed that Umno leaders, without any evidence, have a tendency to say that the local residents are unhappy with Anwar wherever he goes?
Anonymous #8891234467: Mohamad Sazali, by asking PKR people to grab the Umno intruders, you are instead encouraging PKR to go for a fight.
You should refrain from adding more fuel to an already heightened situation here. What you should do now is to discourage Umno from convening any ceramah near to opposition ones.
