Johor PAS Youth today proposed for a debate to be held between Menteri Besar Abdul Ghani Othman and PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub on the state's land issues.

Its chief Suhaizan Kaiat said they were keen in using debates as a new political approach as already been done by several local political leaders.

"Debates can provide people answers on land issues. The public will evaluate the efforts which have been done and currently being done by the government, as well as look at alternative solutions from the opposition," he told reporters in Johor Bahru today.

Suhaizan claimed that among the land issues talked about by the people were Pulau Batu Puteh, handing over of the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Tanjong Pagar land, loss of Malay reserve land and settlers losing land in Felda Cahaya Baru, Masai.

He said Salahuddin, who is also Kubang Kerian member of parliament, had agreed to take part in the debate and they welcomed the media and non-governmental organisations (NGO) to organise the event.

He added that it was suggested that the debate be held at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre in Johor Bahru while the time, date and invitees would be left to the organiser.
