A special panel comprising members of the Royal Malaysian Police and Human Rights Commission of Malaysia will be formed to investigate a video compilation of the April 28 rally, which will be issued by the Home Ministry tomorrow.

Inspector-general of police Ismail Omar gave an assurance that the panel would investigate the video in a fair and thorough manner.

“We are liaising with the Home Ministry. The video will be investigated soon,” he told reporters after officially opening the ‘Dekad Kecemerlangan Anak Polis (Dakap) programme at Bukit Sentosa Pulapol in Rawang today.

Yesterday, Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said the video would be distributed to the media and uploaded on the ministry’s website.

On the Dakap programme, Ismail said about 1,000 children of police and retired policemen were targetted to join the programme this year.

The programme would benefit them, in terms of development and the learning process, he added.
