Settlers in Pahang want more shares in FGVH
Felda Lakum Lanchang Temerloh settlers have asked Felda to add another 200 units of Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGVH) shares, making a total of 1,000 units for each settler.
Felda Lakum Lanchang Temerloh settlers have asked Felda to add another 200 units of Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGVH) shares, making a total of 1,000 units for each settler.
Felda Lakum development committee vice-chairman Abdul Aziz Awang said the 800 units of FGVH shares valued at RM4.55 each, given to the settlers were small as compared to shares offered to Felda staff.
He said, with the 800 units given, the settlers would own shares worth just RM3,640. "Priority must be given to the settlers as announced by Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak during the announcement of the shares recently.
"I hope Felda will review the decision to prevent the opposition from manipulating the issue and causing problems," he told Bernama in Temerloh today.
Meanwhile, Felda Jengka Region head settler Sulaiman Bakar, when contacted, said most of the 15,000 settlers in 37 schemes had asked Felda to review the grant of shares to the settlers.
A settler from Felda Rentam Bera, Ahmad Mokhtar Mohammad, 58, said he would not sell the shares and planned to buy more, had he sufficient money.
