Home Minister Hishamuddin Tun Hussein cynically lauds the wish of the publisher of Irshad Manji's controversial book to sue KDN.
He said the ministry (KDN) is waiting for Ezra Zaid, the publisher of Irshad Manji's book titled 'Allah, Freedom and Love,' to come forward and help with the investigation.
"I do not care whether he comes forward voluntarily or sue KDN but he must come forward and be responsible for his actions," he told reporters after launching the book 'Dian Desa 2012' at SK Ladang Mutiara, Kahang, Kluang, today.
Several opposition web portals posted reports on the publisher's wish to sue KDN, Federal Teritory Islamic Religous Department and Selangor Islamic Religious Department.
Meanwhile, Hishamuddin said KDN had revoked the order of house arrest against eight immigration officers since Dec 3, 2010 under the Internal Security Act (ISA) 1960.
"I have signed the cancellation order and they were released on Thursday. The release was made after the government was satisfied and confident the eight had undergone adequate rehabilitation and are aware of the offences committed."
He said currently, 45 detainees are undergoing detention order while 14 are undergoing Restriction Order under ISA 1960.
