Selangor DAP exco member V Ganabatirau has dismissed allegations by MIC Youth that assailants who targeted him and his brother last week were PKR members, labeling it as “nonsensical wild allegations”.

The DAP leader was responding to Free Malaysia Today ’s report that MIC Youth information chief S Subramaniam had fingered the trio who attacked him and his brother V Papparaidu as PKR members.

"These are simply wild accusations...What nonsense is he talking about?" he told Malaysiakini today.

"It cannot be Pakatan people,” he said further, adding that those unhappy with him would be from the other side of the political divide.

               

He also repeated his claim that one of his attackers was a person who had tried to convince him to join the ruling BN coalition a while back.

According to the news report, Subramaniam was unable to provide details of the trio’s alleged PKR membership, saying only that they were members of the Kapar or Hulu Selangor divisions.

He added that they were amongst those who joined the opposition party en masse during the Hulu Selangor by-election.

Ganabatirau argued that even if Subramaniam managed to furnish proof that the trio were PKR members, he is sure that they are just "trojan horses" that enter the party only to publicly quit and rejoin BN.

He added this is a staple strategy employed by both sides during run-up to polls and by-elections.
