The Mandailing-born community will hold a gathering of the Mandailing-born at the Dewan Seri Siantan, Batu Caves on June 14.
The gathering, scheduled to be launched by Information Communication and Culture Minister Dr Rais Yatim, aimed to foster closer relations among members of the community, said the secretary of the Malaysian ‘Halak Mandailing’ Association, Diana Semaon Harahap, today.
“About 1,000 Mandailing-born are expected to attend the gathering. We will also open registration for new members,” she said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur.
The director-general of the Special Affairs Department (Jasa) Fuad Hassan and the patron of the association, Muhammad Muhd Taib, are also expected to attend the gathering.
