Muhamad Anuar Ghazali from Kelantan and  Che Minah Che Awang, from the Federal Territory, were adjudged winners for the male and female category, respectively, of the national-level 55th Quran Recital Assembly In Johor Baru tonight.

They each received RM15,000, trophies, certificate and a package to perform the haj pilgrimage.

Second prize for the male reciter category was won by Zul-Hasyimi Mohamed Yunus     from Pahang, while third place went to Mohamad Raffe Ghalil Abbas from Sabah.

For the female reciter category, Nur Faten Izzati Rablin from Sabah won the second prize, while Marzian Mohd Deli from Kedah was named third.

The second prize winners each took home RM7,000, a certificate and a package to perform the haj pilgrimage, while the third prize winners received RM5,000, a certificate and a package to perform the haj pilgrimage.

Present to give away the prizes were the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, and Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris.

A total of 27 reciters took part in the event which was held for five days at Persada Johor in Johor Baru.
