First of all, Arab Spring (Egyptian chapter) was largely peaceful, thanks to handphones and not guns. Secondly, and most important of all, Bersih did not seek ouster of cabinet ministers. It only wants electoral reform.

What is so ridiculously wrong with the demand that all political parties be given a level-playing field?

Tangsyt: If the government is enjoying the support of the people, it should not worry about being toppled.

It looks like Nazri is saying that the government is not enjoying the support of the people and is afraid of losing power - so afraid to the point of being paranoid about people carrying water bottles.

May: If the powers-that-be were in solidarity with the rakyat, nothing can topple them, not even salt and water bottles.

First denials, then lies, now violence, including political thuggery, what next? Our public institutions, instead of listening to the public's grouses and making an effort to improve their performance, are only good at pointing fingers, one even calling it just a "perception" .

If we continue to employ civil servants like that, aren't we the bigger fools?

Unspin: Nazri, many of us are waiting to topple the government with our pencils - provided if you are brave enough to allow our electoral roll to be cleaned up as demanded by Bersih.

Please stop equating Bersih 3.0 with Arab Spring because by and large, Malaysians (except the Umno mat rempits and Perkasa clowns) prefer to elect our government fairly and democratically.

The countries Nazri had used as examples were democratic governments that had become regimes and autocratic, and ceased to be the servants and employees of the citizens.

They all had corrupt leaders that were trying to hold on to their power through manipulation, cheating and even murder. As a result, the people had no choice but fight to reclaim their rights as the voting system was fraught with cheating.

The point is, isn't it ironic how Nazri referred to these countries as though he saw the similarity between our government and these other regimes.

Odin: Saudara Lim Kit Siang, Nazri was right. The scientific name/formula for table salt is sodium chloride (NaCl) and for water it is H2O.

Elemental sodium is potentially explosive, chlorine can be made into chlorine gas (which is lethal), hydrogen can be used to make hydrogen bombs, and oxygen aids in combustion.

Plastic mineral water bottles are basically a hydrocarbon byproduct. Extract the hydrogen atoms from them, and there you have another source of the raw material to make hydrogen bombs.

The Bersih 3.0 participants have had with them the raw materials with which to make highly dangerous, lethal weapons of mass destruction, but S Ambiga chickened out some 30 or 40 minutes into the rally and asked all to disperse.

Residents lodge reports over 45 alleged phantom voters

Cempaka Voter: I have just moved into Cempaka. I have notified the Election Commission (EC) of my change of address by doing it at the post office two months ago.

Till today, it has yet to confirm my address change. And now I hear of this massive incursion of phantom voters into Cempaka. This is grossly unethical. The EC must explain or resign.

Go ahead and display the list of dubious voters at two councillors' offices and the JKKK (Village Development and Security Committee) office in Kampung Pandan as you intend to.

With EC's tattered track record of incompetence and blatant bias, you are wasting precious time to get things right.

Malaysia ABU: Again, this time EC will say that they have no power to take the names out once the names have been gazetted into electoral roll, unless those ‘phantoms' go and visit the EC, and say that they don't belong there.

Anonyxyz: Umno and Perkasa ask Malays to trust and believe in them to ensure and protect Malay rights. Suddenly all the illegals, especially the Indonesians, are adding to their numbers.

Soon their perceived quota will be further diluted. Their identity will be further hijacked by these ‘new Malays' and their economic plight will further worsen.

Umno is not protecting the rights of Malays, they are actually destroying them.
