The MIC Youth today urged the authorities to investigate allegations of corruption involving the sale of three plots of land that belonged to Tamil schools in Selangor.

MIC Youth secretary C Sivarraajh alleged that the Selangor government had misused its powers and corruptly gained millions of ringgit after selling the plots of land allocated to Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SRJKT) schools in Midlands, Ladang Bukit Raja in Klang and Ladang Coalfield in Batang Berjuntai.

"The Midlands Tamil school land that was situated in the site currently known as i-City had a market value of RM25 million but the school was given only RM3 million by the company that developed the i-City, to build a new school at another site.

"The public and the Parents Teachers Association (PIBG) contributed RM1.9 million to build the school. So, what happened to the balance RM22 million from the sale," Sivarraajh said after submitting a memorandum to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Putrajaya, urging the commission to conduct an investigation into the sale of the land.

Sivarajjah said when the BN governed Selangor, a 6ha plot was allocated in 2006 to Ladang Bukit Raja but the current Pakatan Rakyat-led state government had reduced it to 2ha.

It was the same case for Ladang Coalfield which was allocated a 7ha plot through the KL Kepong company but the plot was was reduced to 2ha now.

e added that MIC was made to understand that a high-end housing project was being planned at the Ladang Bukit Raja site and a commercial project set to take shape in Ladang Coalfield.
