The Bukit Bintang Plaza shopping complex, a bumiputera business centre in the city’s golden triangle area, is expected to be demolished early next year.

UDA Holdings Bhd is still awaiting a decision from the Finance Ministry on an application by Tradewinds (M) Bhd to participate in the building reconstruction of the complex.

Managing director Ahmad Abu Bakar said UDA Holdings has received a formal application from Tradewinds and other companies also keen to part take in the project.

“MRT Corp has given us time until the end of the year to vacate the building. Eviction notices will be issued to the tenants to move out,” he told reporters after a dialogue with the tenants today.
