Members of the public who want to know more about the culture of the Indian Muslims in Penang will be able to do so as the Malaysian Indian Muslim Community Organisation is organising a one-day carnival for the purpose on July 7.

The organisation’s president, Meera Mydin Mastan, said the carnival would be held from 8am to 11pm a the compound of the Kapitan Keling Mosque in George Town.

“We expect some 25,000 people to turn up. The highlight will an attempt to make a 420m-long ‘roti canai’ which will be recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records,” he told reporters in George Town today.

Visitors can look forward to feasting on popular Indian Muslim dishes like nasi kandar, putumayam, air sharbat, cendol, roti jala and pasembur, besides getting to see antique items which are a pride of the community.
