An MBPJ councillor has allegedly amended a decision made during a council meeting and instead awarded a contract to a law firm owned by a DAP parliamentarian, claimed Selangor MCA.

In a report in Sinar Harian today, Selangor MCA deputy chief Ching Eu Boon accused the unnamed councillor of awarding the contract to the law firm that charged RM55,000.

This was despite that a decision having been made earlier to award the contract to a competitor firm which only charged RM15,000.

The contract was to collect some RM128,000 in debts owed by a tenant company to a swimming complex in 2010, as exposed in a leaked audit report document.   

“An insider source has revealed that the particular councillor who chaired the meeting in June, 2010 had recommended that the law firm owned by the DAP parliamentarian be given the contract.

“Among the three other councillors who had attended the meeting, two were forced to accept the recommendation whereas the other was not aware that the firm was affiliated with the DAP,” Ching was reported as saying.

Meanwhile, Utusan Malaysia reported, Selangor BN coordinator Mohd Zin Mohamed has taken the Selangor MB Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to task over the disbursement of Geran Selangorku which worth a total RM300 million.

He claimed that the disbursement of the grant did not involve the state finance officials but certain individuals in Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI).

He also accused the Selangor government of flip-flopping over the source of the grant, as the latter initially claimed it was generated from the debts collected from developer Talam Corp, but Khalid had recently dismissed the notion.
