I may be wrong, but it seems like the oath has been changed during the 22-year rule of Dr Mahathir Mohamad that the police give protection only to Umno people.

Pakatan Rakyat states need to create their own security personnel because the police have failed the rakyat from decades ago and they're nothing but Umno lapdogs.

Again you are right when you mentioned that Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is a marked man just because he is a Chinese and not sanctioned by Umno.

At least, Lim has proven to the corrupt Umno-BN government how a transparent Pakatan Rakyat party runs Penang, doing away with all the rent-seeking practices by Umno during the time of BN rule under Gerakan's Koh Tsu Koon's chief ministership.

Kgen: Please give Pakatan some trust and leeway instead of dismissing their promises to be better than BN as mere political play.

A Pakatan victory would immediately create a genuine two-party system where the party in power must pander to the will of the people or be swept aside in the next election.

This alone is enough to guarantee a more people-centric government instead of BN's arrogance and autocracy because they have no fear of losing.

Wybie: We need thinkers like Thayaparan to head national think-tanks. All the transformation rhetoric by Pemandu chief Idris Jala is half-baked.

Transformation requires change in three national mindsets - political, technical and cultural, which Idris knows nothing about.

Chinese don't need MCA. I used to be enlisted to head one of MCA's investment holding companies years ago. I quit within one month.

Reason: it was a party of crooks or self-serving individuals. My son, who was only seven or eight years old then, said MCA stood for Malaysian Crooks Association; how apt!

Boom Boom Pow!: The days of racial politics is over but since BN knows not how to do it any other way, they choose to stay the course.

Naturally, it's just a matter of time before the rest of the country realise that corruption or human rights are non-racial.

We are used to but despise Umno politicians paying cash for a new luxury cars, or them hijacking our business with shady deals, or being labelled an un-welcomed ‘pendatang', who by the way have helped built this nation.

And we too are disappointed with MCA and MIC alike who are now as corrupt as the Umnoputras - people who have no moral high ground or integrity leading our nation.

Without the luck of having Petronas, we would have ended up like a pariah third world country.

If the silent majority does not stand up and be counted in the next election, I and others will find a country who treats their ‘pendatang' better.

"Bad officials are elected by good people who don't vote." Shouldn't this be Pakatan's election mantra?

Vmsian: There is only one fundamental issue in GE13 - to ensure the existence of a genuine two-party system.

Other issues no matter how important or crucial are secondary, because without a complete overhaul of the single-party system, Malaysia and Malaysians will be damned for another 50 years.
