Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has been urged to make good his 1Malaysia policy by immediately sanctioning Sri Gading MP Mohamad Aziz, Utusan Malaysia and Perkasa.

In a press release today, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng accused the three parties of racism and that it was undermining the Najib administration's 1Malaysia policy.

"Najib’s 1Malaysia slogan has been completely ripped apart and ignored by the extremist and racist supporters of Umno who are conducting a sustained campaign of primitive hatred and imagined fears against Bersih co-chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan, Singapore and myself," said Lim.

Lim was referring to Mohamad's tirade in the Dewan Rakyat on June 26, where he called for Ambiga to be hanged over the her role in the Bersih 3.0 rally which drew an estimated 100,000 people.

The rally ended in chaos after a small group of protestors failed to heed Ambiga's calls for dispersal and breached a police cordon around Dataran Merdeka.

Apologise to Ambiga

Ambiga responded by stating that she is victim of a hate campaign and is worried that Mohamad's speech may end up inciting hate crimes.

Mohamad was later compelled by the Dewan Rakyat to withdraw the remark, but Lim pointed out that Mohamad never apologised to Ambiga.

"Najib should prove his respects the Indians, Hindus and women by directing that Mohamad Aziz makes a full and unconditional apology to Ambiga," he said.

On Utusan Malaysia , Lim said the Umno-owned daily continued to demonise the non-Malays by suggesting that Chinese-majority Singapore seeks to interfere in Malaysian politics.

Lim said Utusan "weaves its web of lies" by citing former Singaporean premier Lee Kuan Yew's visit to Penang in 2008 as proof and the historical roots of the DAP, which is an offshoot of Singapore's People's Action Party (PAP).

PM should complain to Singapore

He said Utusan conveniently ignored the fact that Lee had also visited states controlled by BN.

"If ( Utusan's ) allegations are true, then Najib should lodge an official complaint with Singapore and adduce evidence.

"Otherwise he should direct Utusan Malaysia to stop such childish and dangerous games that makes Malaysia an international laughing stock," said Lim.

He added that the premier must also direct Umno's withdrawal of support for Perkasa, an organisation which he claimed had perpetuated a string of violence.

                        

"As the Pakatan Rakyat Chief Minister of Penang, I have been their favourite target," he said.

Thus far, said Lim, the police have not taken any action against Perkasa, who have been accused of assault by the public and at least two reporters.

The latest incident occurred on Sunday, when one Perkasa member allegedly charged at Lim at Teluk Bahang, Penang and made contact.

The alleged assailant was restrained by local community leaders.
