A protest to pressure for the release of the Internal Security Act (ISA) detainees is to be held outside the Kamunting Detention Camp near Taiping in Perak on Sunday.

On July 15, we will hold a demonstration outside Kamunting," Gerakan Mansuhkan ISA (GMI) secretariat member E Nalini ( right ) said last night.

She was one of the speakers who delivered a speech at the end of a two-kilometre walk from Dataran Merdeka to Stadium Merdeka to commemorate the first anniversary of the Bersih 2.0 rally.

The protest on Sunday will be the third consecutive week of anti-ISA protests outside the camp.

In addition, the detainees have held hunger strikes to call for their release, but were forced to end their second hunger strike after more than 14 days when they were put in solitary confinement in rooms with poor ventilation.
