Utusan Malaysia has urged Kota Laksamana state assemblyperson Betty Chew and a woman that BN has accused of having an affair with the former’s husband to hold a joint press conference.

NONE In the Bisik-Bisik (whispers) column which appeared in Utusan 's Sunday edition Mingguan Malaysia today, author 'Awang Selamat' said this was necessary because they were many unanswered questions to the alleged affair.

Chew’s husband, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, has been accused by pro-BN blogs of having an affair with a former office staff.

Utusan has previously published both the woman's name and photograph.

“If the two women feel awkward, Lim can sit between the two,” said Awang, a psuedonym for the newspaper’s senior writers.

NONE “The question is whether Chew and (the woman) are willing to do so. It looks easy, but when it comes to feelings and what more love, it would be difficult.”

Utusan has been on a relentless campaign to claim that Lim might have had an affair that resulted in him suffering an injury on his forehead, ostensibly inflicted by Chew upon knowledge of the said affair.

Efforts intensified after Malacca MCA chief Gan Tian Loo raised the matter at the Malacca state legislative assembly, which was then aired on pro-government television channels.

The couple have both publicly denied the affair and have urged MCA to stop making personal attacks.

In the article, Awang argued that the woman accused of having an affair with Lim has yet to deny the allegations, which in itself, said the Umno-owned daily, raises more questions.
