Riding the gravy train to the very end
VOXPOP 'What kind of expertise do the companies of former chief secretary to the government Mohd Sidek Hassan's daughter have.'
Solar power deal: Suzi's firms will make a killing
Ferdtan:
This is the sign of the dying regime - the five-decade-old BN government. To each its own, like there is no tomorrow.
The rape of the nation's wealth has begun without care of its consequences to the survival of its ruling regime.
The BN leaders have given up hope or lost confidence in retaining power in the next general election, thus the panic has started among them not to miss out on the gravy train.
That is the reason why we are hearing so often of such financial scandals among the cabinet members. The rate this is going, Pakatan would be left with a bankrupt Malaysia.
Bystander: Sustainable Energy Development Authority's (Seda) chief Fong Chan Onn, you should have retired from politics a couple of years back and would retain a little bit of integrity.
Your response to DAP publicity chief Tony Pua simply showed that you are cornered. You are indeed making a fool out of yourself.
A company which is conveniently formed just days before closing of a tender warrants suspicions.
What kind of expertise do the companies of former chief secretary to the government Mohd Sidek Hassan's daughter have? Any track record?
Just simply take the tender off the plate and then subcontract it to some companies is nothing short of rent-seeking. Why does it seem that Umno's cronies seem to be getting all the pies?
FellowMalaysian: Fong heads Seda as a farewell bid by the government. So he wouldn't give a damn who gets what as long as he follows instructions; for example, in this case, to award the tender to Mohamad Sidek's clan.
Clueless, he definitely is, and he also hides information from the public.
Anonymous #79199503: Fong, gone are the days where you deal with a simple-minded electorate who believes what you say is the gospel truth.
Today's electorate is made up of thinkers and logic seekers. Go and check with your children and grandchildren. Time to retire, Fong.
Fair Play: Pua, you caught the Seda chairperson with his pants down. How else could he answer you except to squirm his way about and out if he is able. But I doubt it, except for more threats of legal actions against you.
2LAN: He does not know, or has it been intentional ignorance?
FellowMalaysian: If honest explanations are not forthcoming, Pua should take Fong and company to court for abetting in corruption and for sequestering away facts from the public.
Anonymous #18452573: It is clear that the corrupted politicians in Umno-BN intend to sign off as many contracts to cronies and family members in case they lose GE13.
That way they would have legally bound and secured lucrative government projects. They intend to pilfer from the nation and the rakyat through nepotism, cronyism and corruption..
Little Hantu: Hello Fong, why sue, just give answers. You think you are still teaching EG202 in Universiti Malaya and that you can simply scold your students?
Malaysian Pariah: This is why we need intelligent MPs like Pua. They are our future to bring the country to the next level and eliminate corruption.
Stupid MPs only bring disaster to country and are limited to raising slogans with no idea of plans of action and outcomes desired.
To such stupid MPs, corruption is morally and religiously correct.
Anonymous #06659895: Pua, can we Malaysians, take legal action against Fong instead? We don't mind contributing generously. Don't go to MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission), their actions tell all.
Noh: I've no financial stake in prawn farm business
Odin: Agriculture and Agro-based Minister Noh Omar, only three days ago, you were reported to have said that you were involved in the prawn-breeding business because you wanted to experience a farmer's life and that you were interested in agriculture.
Now you are telling us that if your 20-acre plot was not farmed, it would turn into a jungle. But why should it? You could have built a shack and gone there during the weekend to cut and dig and plant and water and fertilise.
To be a successful lawyer, you must be sharp, so that you can argue your client's case well. You obviously can't even argue your own case here.
And to be a good liar, you must have an excellent memory, so that you can recall what lies you have told and avoid telling new ones that will tell on you.
Onyourtoes: You lease the land on fixed term or you have some profit sharing of the project based on your leased land as equity.
Come on, put everything on the table. We have the right to know because as the federal cabinet minister, you cannot actively involved in business.
Alfa: A person need not be registered as a shareholder to hold a stake in a company. The normal modus operandi is to let someone hold the shares in trust through a trust deed or execute a loan agreement between the parties.
Starr: Noh Omar obviously does not understand the concepts of 'public accountability' and 'conflict of interest'. In fact, very few Umno-BN politicians do. They think political office is a passport to wealth and fortune.
