DPM and MCA trade barbs

Do you think the DPM has understood the problems of the Malays? If so, half of the parliamentary seats would not have gone to PAS and PKR.

Do you think MCA was really interested in solving the problems of the Chinese? Even nincompoops know that in the party, business and vested interests come first and foremost.

Why do political leaders and MPs constantly talk about gauging the sentiments on the ground? Why are they constantly appeasing and playing to the gallery?

They go to the kampong to give bicycles and bags of rice and Maggie mee. They have 1Taxi, 1Menu, 1Kedai, BR1M and endless other 1s in the pipeline. They do everything, but they miss the most important things.

I leave it to you to find out what are some of these most important things are.

Starr: MCA doesn't understand Chinese sentiments and Muhyiddin only thinks of the Malays. That really sums up the failure of the BN government.

Moontime: Ruffled feathers galore! Please trade more barbs and wash your dirty linen out in the open for everyone to see. By now both Umno and MCA should have realised that race-based politics are so out-of-date.

Ironically, it took them a long time to realise it, especially when faced by the real threat of losing big in the next general election.

After 55 years of misleading the Chinese and pandering to the corrupt and decadent Umno thugs, they live in cloud cuckoo land.

It finally dawned on MCA deputy chief Liow Tiong Lai that the Chinese, Indians, Kadazans and Ibans and all the others want to be treated equally and fairly.

They want a government that works for the rakyat and not rob the rakyat, as admitted by Local Government and Housing Minister Chor Chee Heung - RM26 billion of leakages due to corruption.

Yesterday, Penang BN chief Teng Chang Yeow stated in The Sun that he did not mind if Penang became bankrupt. How can this people represent any Malaysian, be it Malay, Iban or Chinese? Yet this is the man chosen by by the BN to lead them in Penang state.

Then we have Sustainable Energy Development Authority's chief Fong Chan Onn, who is red in the face because DAP's national publicity chief Tony Pua pointed out that he gave licences and 34 percent of the solar power quota to 12 under-financed companies with zero expertise or track records.

Giudice: "Policies which are not fair to the Chinese community are being slowly rectified."

Does that not prove that MCA has been utterly useless for the last 50 odd years? Why were such policies allowed to be implemented in the first place?

Answer: MCA is only concerned with its own interests and not the interests of the Chinese community.

Sime Darby ex-CEO in court over RM100mil losses

Odin: The Sarawak state government gave approval for the use of the land to Sime Darby. Who has the power to give the same land to Vertical Drive Sdn Bhd and Natural Ambience Sdn Bhd if not the state government?

Find out who (directly or through his family members, relatives or cronies) has stakes in these companies, and you'll probably know why Sime Darby has been milked of RM101 million, as well as why Sime Darby has been allowed to be milked.

Former Sime Darby CEO Ahmad Zubir Murshid knows the truth. Whether he will reveal it during his trial is another story altogether.

KD: Strange, isn't it - when the state government is ultimately responsible on decisions concerning land, why is Zubir charged?

Can he stop the state government from awarding land to whichever party? Let's look beyond this. It looks like this is the only 'stickable" offence they could come with.

YF: This nothing but pure sandiwara (theatre). It's amazing how MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) acts on Zubir but does nothing to Umno corrupt leaders.

Why the double standards? Unless Zubir is made the sacrificial lamb just to allow the Umno crooks to make the claim that MACC is not biased.

Stried: So far the track record of the MACC is impressively bad, so Zubir will eventually be a free man due to lack of solid evidence. Just you wait and see.

Anonymous_3e21: First and foremost, it's taken a long time to charge Zubir and the charges pressed seems to be sort of a compromise.

It all points to a political move by parties who want to gain few brownie points.

JSTOM: All these high-profile cases will be 'ongoing' to give a picture that BN and MACC are taking action just before elections. After elections, all will be thrown out the window - typical standard operating procedure of BN.

Starr: Is this another case of a public relations exercise to charge high-profile individuals connected to Umno-BN leadership only to discharge them later, like the ex-Land and Cooperative Development Minister Kasitah Gaddam case under Pak Lah?

Any conviction in the ongoing trial of a former transport minister for cheating the cabinet is highly unlikely, given the doctrine of 'collective responsibility' of the cabinet.

The bigger fishes are still at large, and are under the protection of the Umno-BN leadership.

Oilman: Based on the facts in this news report, I don't see any CBT (criminal breach of trust). Incompetence maybe, or even naivete, but nothing illegal, unless the MACC has proof that Zubir actually profited from the deal.

If they can charge and jail employees for incompetence, then Malaysia will need many more jails as up to 70 percent of government servants and GLC (government-linked companies) staff may be guilty.

My take on this is that some Sarawak CM Taib Mahmud cronies hijacked the land deal before Sime Darby could do anything, knowing that the company will be forced to buy the land and the cronies will get easy money for doing nothing.

Typical modus operandi in Bolehland, if you know what I mean.
