A late Friday night fire destroyed a row of 10 wooden shophouses in Pekan Kubor Panjang in Kedah causing damage estimated at RM1 million.

Kedah Fire and Rescue Department Director Zulkarnain Mohd Kassim said among the shophouses were a clinic, a retail store and a restaurant.

According to Bernama , the fire broke out at 10.20pm. No one was injured

Volunteer fire-fighters helped the department's personnel to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to 12 other shophouses in the same row.
