The making of a mole hill into a mountain by Bernama and The Star is uncalled for. Take during Thaipusam: many motorists were summoned by the police and the Penang City Council (MPPP) for unlawful parking.

But then Star and Bernama were quiet on this. Why? Because MCA and Umno-BN are fishing for votes. The Malays are not naive.

Stevencbs: MPPP (Penang Municipal Council) should step up traffic laws enforcement instead of relocating the hawkers. If they summon cars that park haphazardly to patronise these stalls, then let's see whether the traders will move or not.

Onyourtoes: Please, MPPP and the Penang government, do it on all hawkers. Educate them but be firm. Leadership is about bringing change, not being populist.

I think hawkers in Malaysia are the most disgusting group. They cause traffic congestion, clog drains with leftover food, dirty the streets and their prices are not really cheap.

It is time to group them into designated areas and monitor them so that they dispose of garbage properly. I have seen how Singapore has done it. So let us follow the advanced countries, not the moronic ones.

Artchan: Strange, when they were given the permit to trade, I am sure they were also informed of the location to trade. So, if you are not happy with the location, why apply for the stall? Give it to someone who wants it.

Don't Shiok Shiok, Stupid: If the bazaar causes traffic jams and it needs to be relocated for public interest, what is there to politicise?

Why compare it with the other area where BN rules? BN is obsolete and needs to be replaced, because it has raped and is raping the rakyat and the country of its potential and usefulness.

Giudice: Bumiputera traders have been oppressed since the opposition coalition took over Penang? Because you now have to respect and follow the law perhaps?

Jiminy Qrikert: The political party that blogger Ahmad Faisal Mohd Yunos works for has to be Umno. If it was a Pakatan Rakyat party that did this, Bernama and all the other Umno-BN papers would have splashed it across their front pages in super-sized headlines.

Anyway, Pakatan supporters blog in support of the opposition without payment. We are happy to do our part. It is easy when we are on the side of truth.
