AirAsia Thailand will move its operations from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (SVB) to Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) from Oct 1, 2012.

In a statement today, AirAsia Bhd said in preparation for the move, AirAsia Thailand will perform an airport code switch from ‘SVB’ to ‘DMK’ in the system.

“The switch will be done from 10pm (2200hrs) of July 27, 2012 until 10pm (2300hrs) of July 29, 2012, Thailand time (GMT +7),” it said.

AirAsia said during the system change, guests will be unable to make any new bookings online, through agents, airport sales office and travel service centres for flights going to or from Bangkok during the travel period of Oct 1, 2012 onwards.

“Guests on all Bangkok flights for the travel period of Oct 1, 2012 onwards will also be temporarily affected by not being able to use the Manage My Booking function or web check-in,” it said.

After the airport code change has been completed, guests travelling to or from Bangkok from Oct 1 onwards will receive an updated travel itinerary with the new airport code, DMK, it said.

“Those who have already checked in for their flights to or from Bangkok with a travel period of Oct 1, 2012 onwards will be required to check-in again,” AirAsia said.
