The Malacca Umno communications office has not received any appeal from blogger Ahmad Faisal Mohd Yunos in support of his claim for RM24,370 in unpaid salary, according to an administrator.

Ahmad Faisal should therefore submit an appeal and the relevant evidence so that the office can consider the appeal

“He did not make an appeal ... If there is a case, (he should) refer it to the ex-employer and submit an appeal for consideration,” said the administrator, who declined to be named when contacted.

“But the blogger should prove that his claim is correct. There is nothing to be worried about.”

blog and pod casting Last Sunday, Sinar Harian had reported that Ahmad Faisal, 44, had been selected as a special officer and head of the IT Unit at the Umno office and was assigned to write a blog for the party.

He had reportedly received the offer letter on May 13, 2008, stipulating a monthly salary of RM3,000.

However, he claimed that the party paid him less than RM1,000 each month. In addition, his salary has been withheld since May last year, following a change in management staff from the beginning of last year.

Last July, he was issued a termination letter which he accepted, but on condition that the outstanding salary is settled.

Ahmad Faisal said he was paid RM11,330 on Dec 20 last year, after Umno deducted RM2,300 which he had borrowed.

He claimed that the party deducted the rest for the cost of equipment provided to him while he was on the staff.

Ahmad Faisal said he is ready to return all the equipment if his salary is fully paid. The items include three laptops and a compact camera.
