Firefly, in a move to spread its wings further, will fly direct from Kota Baru to Singapore every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, beginning Aug 10.

The new Firefly destination would help penetrate Singapore’s rapidly developing tourism industry and forge closer ties between the people of both countries, said Transport Minister Kong Cho Ha in a statement.

Besides, Kota Baru is also the entry point to Pulau Perhentian which is well-known for scuba diving and snorkeling, is rich in arts and culture, and handicraft, he added.

With the direct flight between Kota Baru and Singapore, Kong hoped tourists from the island republic would take advantage of the opportunity to visit Kota Baru and indirectly contribute to the Kelantan state economy.
