“The story is untrue, I have no idea how this could arise. Perhaps it has deliberate been spun by political enemies who intend to destroy my political career,” Zaki was quoted as saying in a Sinar Harian report today.
The claim had surfaced on pro-Umno blogs after the former member of girl band Elite and actress in police teleseries

officially joined PAS on July 19.
Asked if he had met Abby, whose real name is Arbaiyah Abd Manan, Mohd Zaki (left) told the daily that he had only met her once when she was invited as a speaker at a PAS ceramah in his constituency in Kelantan on July 3.
“I willl give time for those responsible for spreading this story to withdraw their defamatory statement in this month of Ramadan. If they do not, then I will consider my next move that is necessary to clear my name,” he was quoted as saying.
Abby is among the latest celebrities to join PAS, as part of an aggressive recruitment drive by the party to attract personalities from the entertainment industry.
Others recruited to the party include singer Aishah and lyricist and comedian Bob Lokman.
On July 30, Malaysiakini reported that Abby had said her tudung contract was terminated purportedly over her involvement with the Islamic party.
Abby is among the artistes who are active on the PAS cermah circuit in the run-up to the 13th general election which is due in less than a year.
