People's Progressive Party (PPP) president M Kayveas says Tamil newspapers must be objective and stop reporting inaccurate news that split the Indian community.

He claimed that Tamil dailies Malaysia Nanban, Tamil Nesan and Makkal Osai have been giving wide coverage to statements made by opposition leaders.

"Tamil newspapers must this. They had been this way since the last general election and are openly supporting the opposition.

"No need for them to promote and highlight statements by opposition leaders. They must report issues objectively, unite the Indians and don't incite the people."

Kayveas was commenting on Tamil newspapers that report statements by opposition leaders and criticised him for agreeing with Utusan Malaysia that they are anti-government.

"The fact that they criticised me for agreeing with Utusan Malaysia proves that Tamil newspapers are supporting the opposition."

Kayveas said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had been working hard to help the Indian community despite the negative spin by the opposition.
