A businesswoman who punched, slapped and threw chili powder at her husband was fined RM2,000, in default two months’ jail, by the magistrate’s court in Petaling Jaya today for voluntarily causing hurt on her husband.

Magistrate KB Elena Hong Tze Lan handed down the sentence on Rasidah Rahmathullah, 39, after finding her guilty of the charge.

Rasidah was charged with committing the offence on Mohamed Nasser Abdul Razak, 42, an administrative and diplomatic officer, at their residence at Jalan USJ 1/4F, Subang Jaya at 3pm on April 19, 2010.

The couple is now divorced.

Deputy public prosecutor Wan Shahida Wan Omar prosecuted, while lawyer Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali represented Rasidah.

Rasidah paid the fine.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Nasser is also facing a charge of causing hurt on Rasidah at the same place and time and the case is still pending.
