Police will send the full investigation report on the actions of the Janji Demokrasi gathering participants on the eve of Merdeka Day last Thursday to the Attorney-General’s Chambers today.

Kuala Lumpur CID (Legal) deputy chief, ACP Aziz Zakaria said the full report would cover the actions of the rally participants who brought the ‘Sang Saka Malaya’ flag, and trampled and mooned the pictures of the prime minister and his wife.

“The full report will be sent for further action by the Attorney-General’s Chambers,” he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Meanwhile, Aziz said three more organisers of the rally would be summoned shortly after two main organisers gave their statements yesterday.

He said the three organisers were PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu, Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice-president Tian Chua and Hishamuddin Md Rais to assist in completing the investigation.

“Police are sending them notices according to Section 111 of the Criminal Procedure Code and they have agreed to give statements over the organising of an assembly without a permit, even though the actual date has not been decided,” he said.

Today, police recorded the statements of the assembly organiser Maria Chin Abdullah as well as national laureate A Samad Said at the Dang Wangi police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, another woman gave herself up yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters over trampling on the prime minister’s picture at Dataran Merdeka on Aug 30.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Ku Chin Wah said the woman, aged 21, gave herself up at 10pm last night.

Police released the woman on bail after recording her statement, he said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

At the moment, he said four of the 11 persons whose pictures were published in the media, had been identified and had their statements recorded and were freed on bail.
