Cops complete papers on Merdeka eve incidents
Inspector-general of police Ismail Omar said the investigation papers would be forwared to the Attorney-General's Chambers tomorrow.
Police have completed investigations into the incidents at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur on Merdeka eve where pictures of the prime minister and his wife were stomped on and 'Sang Saka Malaya' flags were flown during the celebrations at Dataran Merdeka..
Inspector-general of police Ismail Omar said the investigation papers would be forwared to the Attorney-General's Chambers tomorrow even though a few more individuals sought in connection with the cases had yet to surrender themselves or had been detained for their statements to be recorded.
He advised the persons concerned to surrender themselves to the Dang Wangi police station in the federal capital.
He added that he believed that the Criminal Investigation Department had done a thorough job regarding the incidents and that the matter was now left to the due process of the law
Ismail was speaking to reporters after closing the IGP Cup football tournament at the General Operations Force's northern brigade headquarters in Ulu Kinta here today.
