Pakatan Rakyat last night launched their ‘orange book’ for their women’s agenda to harness their vote in their final push for Putrajaya.

NONE Speaking at the launch of their Malaysian Women’s Agenda (AWM), opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim said he was confident the coalition could win Putrajaya, but needed that “little push” from the women electorate.

“I believe at this time and moment, with our friends in DAP, PAS and PKR together ... I am confident we can take Putrajaya.

“However we need a little push in the rural and urban areas. More so from the women community,” said Anwar.

The AWM outlines seven key points aimed at empowering women in the areas of economy, politics and society.

Noting that rural and town areas were more of a challenge, Anwar advised Wanita Pakatan to emulate the PAS example in Kelantan in approaching the opposite gender.

"Engaging women in the cities is not the same as in the towns and rural areas. Our greatest challenge is in the towns and rural areas," he said.

Anwar said he was confident that the agenda would not turn out to be merely a slogan as it has been the case with the ruling coalition.
