Feedback on the education blueprint should be gathered from the civil society and not from political parties.

Chairperson of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation, Musa Hitam, said if this exercise (the feedback) was from the civil society, then the fundamental things gathered would be genuine or real needs of the people

He said Malaysia gave opportunity for the young generation in a multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-religious environment.

“We must not close our mind for the benefit of a certain group. We have to take advantage where the different races will be blended and given the opportunity to expose to each other's cultures in a positive way,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of WIEF Young Fellows 2012 leadership programme in Kuala Lumpur today.

On WIEF’s programmes, he said, they focused on youth and women.

The programme is an initiative under the WIEF Young Leader Network which is aimed at nurturing leadership in the hearts and minds of young people.

The programme, from Sept 9-14, attracted 24 young “change-makers” from 12 countries.
