Zamil Ibrahim, who claims to be Parti Keadilan Insan Tanah Air president, wants action to be taken against those who received financial support from maverick currency speculator George Soros.

He claimed they were Soros’ proxies and could be regarded as traitors to the country.

“Those individuals are using non-governmental organisations as a cover, purportedly to champion human rights and freedom of expression,” he said.

Zamil was commenting on a media report which linked Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram) to Soros.

He also wanted opposition leaders to clarify Suaram’s contributions to society.

An investigation by the Companies Commission of Malaysia found that Suaram received funds from Suara Inisiatif Sdn Bhd, which was registered under the Companies Act.
