Kepong Umno Youth head Norizan Ali was badly injured when he was stabbed as he walked to his house after parking his car about 20 metres away at about 3.30am today, police said.

Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Amiruddin Jamaluddin said police were ascertaining the motive for the attack as a preliminary investigation showed that none of the belongings of Norizan, 41, was missing.

“The victim is undergoing surgery. We have to wait to record a statement,” he said at the Ampang Hospital where Norizan has been admitted.

Norizan’s wife, Roslinda Kamarudin, 38, said she and their 19-year-old daughter, Amalina, found Norizan, soaked in blood, leaning against the gate of their house in Jalan Dagang 2/4, Taman Dagang, in Ampang after hearing shouts for help and constant banging of the gate.

Norizan, who was returning home after watching a televised football match at a nearby restaurant, was badly injured in the abdomen and fingers, she told reporters at the house.

She said her daughter immediately called the police and an ambulance.

A neighbour, Abd Wahab Karim, 54, said he heard the sound of a running motorcycle engine and then Roslinda shouting for help.

He said he rushed out of his house and found Norizan badly injured, and helped Roslinda to have her husband sent to hospital.
