Anthony Lee Kim Kwang, 51, lodged the report at the Taman Johor Jaya police station in Johor Baru after he received the threatening call at 11.17pm.
“I received the call during a visit to the Taman Tasik Pandan apartments in Johor Baru,” he told reporters at a meeting organised by the Permas Selatan MCA today.
Lee said the man, who spoke in the Hokkien dialect, threatened to locate and shoot him.
The man claimed to represent his friend, who was upset by Lee’s speech during a survey of the drainage problems in Bandar Permas Jaya, several days ago.
Meanwhile, Permas Selatan MCA chairperson Shium Chan Teck hoped that the authorities would investigate the matter immediately.
