Penang Umno Liaison Committee chairman Zainal Abidin Osman today urged Deputy Chief Minister I Mansor Osman not to flip flop, but to admit his statement criticising Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng last April.

Datuk Zainal Abidin Osman, penang umno chief Zainal Abidin ( left ) said if the statement made by Mansor during the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) strategic meeting last April was indeed the party's stand, then he should not be afraid of anything.

"Why should he be afraid when the statement leaked? Why should he be afraid of DAP or Lim? Just tell the truth. Penangites want leaders who tell the truth not lies.

"We hope the deputy chief minister will take this as a lesson to always tell the truth, not to flip flop all the time," he told reporters after attending the 'Salam Sayang' programme organised by Wanita Umno here today.

Also present was Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

Mansor came under fire when the minutes of the strategic meeting leaked out and was posted in the blog gelagatanwar.wordpress. com .

According to the minutes, he was quoted as saying that Lim was very “arrogant” and “cocky”.

On Aug 24, Mansor, however, denied that he had made such a statement.

NONE The meeting, which was held at PKR's office in King Street, discussed, among others, the allocation of state seats for the upcoming 13th general election.

“Mansor need not to flip flop. Don't embarrass the Penangites. If that's what you said and that it was discussed, recorded and published, then admit it. Why should you be afraid of Lim?" Zainal Abidin added.
